As a Psychologist, my passion is to support clients who are working towards their personal growth, assisting them in expanding their understanding of the limiting beliefs and repeated patterns of behaviors that contribute to their emotional symptoms.

Using evidence-based therapeutic approaches and working collaboratively towards the clients’ goals, my role is to support clients reframe these thoughts/beliefs and develop new patterns of behaviors aligned with their personal values, which in turn promotes symptom reduction and enables clients to live a more fulfilling life.

I work with adults aged 20+ who are concerned about their mental health and are open to explore avenues to changing how they are feeling and coping with life’s challenges.

Presentations I work with:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • PTDS/cPTSD
  • Perinatal Support
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Low self-esteem/self-confidence
  • Adjustment to life transitions
  • Disordered Eating (ie Binge Eating)
  • Addictions/Substance Misuse

Areas of Special Interest

I believe that each person is unique and therefore requires a tailored treatment strategy to achieve their goals in therapy. I integrate a diverse range of psychological strategies in therapy, informed by approaches like:

EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
  • EMDR is a psychotherapeutic approach primarily used to treat trauma-related disorders such as PTSD and Complex PTSD, Anxiety, Phobias, Disordered Eating, Addictions, and attachment trauma/wounds.
  • It involves a thorough investigation of symptoms their causes, and the development/strengthening of emotional regulation skills.
  • EMDR Therapy uses bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, to help process distressing memories and reframe negative beliefs.
  • EMDR aims to reduce the emotional charge associated with traumatic memories and promote adaptive coping mechanisms.
Attachment-Based Therapy
  • An attachment-based approach to therapy looks at the connection between an infant’s early attachment experiences with primary caregivers, and how these experiences shape their relationships later in life.
  • Attachment-based therapy focuses on building a trusting, supportive therapeutic relationship which enables the exploration and healing of attachment wounds.
Motivational Interviewing
  • Motivational interviewing aims to elicit and strengthen motivation for change.
  • Motivational interviewing techniques help individuals resolve their ambivalence and increase their readiness for positive behavioral change.
Compassion-Focused Therapy
  • Compassion-focused therapy (CFT) aims to promote emotional healing, resilience, and well-being through cultivating self-compassion and empathy towards oneself and others.
  • It addresses self-criticism, shame, and emotional difficulties.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ACT)
  • CBT is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on identifying, challenging and changing negative/limiting thoughts and behaviors and uncomfortable feelings linked to them.
  • ACT combines elements of CBT with mindfulness and acceptance strategies to help individuals develop psychological flexibility and live in accordance with their values.
  • Both CBT and ACT aim to promote behavioral change, increase psychological flexibility, and enhance overall well-being.
Mindfulness
  • Mindfulness involves cultivating present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance of one’s thoughts, emotions, and sensations.
  • Mindfulness-based interventions, such as mindfulness meditation and mindful breathing, help individuals reduce stress, enhance self-awareness, and improve emotional regulation.
  • Practicing mindfulness can lead to greater psychological resilience, increased focus, and a sense of inner calm.
